Faith in Action

The Christian faith calls us to work for the good of all humanity through practical action.

This is part of our Christian witness in the world.

The organisations below are ones which in different ways, St Mary's supports or is associated with. We have a particular ministry to displaced peoples, worked out through our commitment to fight the injustices which force people to leave their homes and livelihoods. We do this through prayer, social action and hands on engagement.

Refugee Welcome

RWD is St Mary's Home Office Community Sponsorship Scheme. In March 2019 a family from Syria arrived under our care and they are living in a CofE property.

Our team are now working closely with them to resettle and nurture them in their new life in the UK.

Welcome Churches Network

We're proud to be an Associate Member of the Welcome Churches Network.

As a church community we recognise that we have the privilege and opportunity to work with and care for refugees and asylum seekers in a particular way.

No refugee or asylum seeker should be or needs to be alone; we will walk along side those who come to us as equals and partners.
